The Dark Knight Rises is a 2012 superhero film directed by Christopher Nolan, who co-wrote the screenplay with his brother Jonathan Nolan and David S. stories with Goyer. Based on the DC Comics character Batman, the film is the third and final installment in Nolan's Batman movie trilogy, and is the sequel to Batman Begins (2005) and The Dark Knight (2008). Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, and Cillian Murphy back to reprise their roles from Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. This film introduces the character of Selina Kyle, played by Anne Hathaway, a cat burglar in Gotham City look set to move the chain of events that will bring Batman to come out of retirement and cross the road with Bane, played by Tom Hardy, the terrorist leader with a plan to destroy Gotham City.

Eight years after the events of The Dark Knight, Gotham City is in a state of peace. Under powers granted by the Act Dent, Commissioner James Gordon has been nearly eradicated violence and organized crime. Gordon was guilty of a cover-crime Harvey Dent, but decided that the city is not ready to hear the truth. We follow the lead in the abduction of a congressional representative, Gordon's speech falls into the hands of the villain Bane, who discovered the truth about Dent. Gordon was shot in the process of escape and increased patrol officer detective John Blake, allowing Blake to report directly to him.
As Batman has disappeared from Gotham, so too has Bruce Wayne, locked himself inside Wayne Manor. Wayne Enterprises collapsed after he invested in clean energy projects board member Miranda Tate, which is designed to harness fusion power, and shut it down after learning that the core can be turned into nuclear weapons. Both Blake, who had deduced the identity of Batman Batman and Gordon pleaded for the return. Bane and Bruce to attack the stock broke, forcing him to relinquish control of Wayne Enterprises.
